I forgot to let everyone know that I can now shop again! I'm not sure if I mentioned it in this online venue previously, but I gave up all non-essential shopping for Lent, and I had to go an extra week due to the personal necessity of a non-essential purchase [it involves shoes and a bag and a really great deal]. SOOO as of yesterday, I am able to go crazy with credit and debit again! I celebrated by going to Lowe's and dropping over a hundred bucks on plants and accompanying items. I've wanted to verde-ify my porch for a good long while, but I haven't been able to do so for obvious reasons. It's been super tough. It's all green now, though, with a hanging plant and a hydrangea in the corner and a cute little table thing that will be holding baby potted herbs pretty soon.
I think I'm lucky that I have SmartBoard class Tuesday and Thursday of this week and the next, plus a staff meeting Wednesday and a school carnival Friday. This means I won't go blow all my savings this week, and maybe I'll be able to gradually ease back into the world of the spending. Otherwise...look out, Wachovia. You might be issuing some overdraft fees.
