Hello, world!

It's that time again.  Grades are due Monday.

You would think I would have learned my lesson by now, that I would have realized it's better to do grades a little at a time.  Which of course I know to be true.  I just don't act like it's true.  I get grades done a little at a time, yes, but I still leave loads of them to put in towards the end, leaving myself with a few evenings like the one I am having right now.

I worked a good bit today on getting things graded and put into the system during school hours, though, I didn't force myself to do anything I didn't want to do.  I'm that kind of girl; if there's something more fun, I'm gonna do it.  I'll just leave the rest until later.  Thankfully, there weren't too many fun things to do other than talk to my lovely and amiable coworkers... which is exactly what I did.  That left me with even more work to do after school today.

I was thankful that some of my Forensics (speech/monologue) kids came into my room to get some of their research done.  I know this sounds odd, but it actually helped me focus to have other things going on.  I tend to get really anxious and impatient when there's no other visual or auditory input.  That's one reason why tests, funerals and doctors' offices make me nervously giggle--there's nothing else going on.  Plus they're really uncomfortable.

Anyway, the kids were in there for an hour or so, and it made it feel like I wasn't actually staying late for that hour.  Wow, I can't imagine if I'd actually been all by myself the entire time after school.  That would've been torture.

I worked inputting grades and getting things organized all the way up until just after six o'clock -- that's a whole two-and-a-half hours after the bell rang.  Nonstop.  I felt so productive!

I picked up CookOut on my way home as my little reward for myself, and as a way to draw out the lunch possibilities I have for the remainder of the week.  And here I am, ready to eat my barbecue sandwich and catch an episode of something on my DVR, then it's back to work again.  Because yes, I did bring home tests and a set of warm-ups to grade.

Ohhhhh brother I'll be glad when this is done.
