I'm making a list!

Page will be so proud of me.

I was eating some leftover seafood linguine today and thinking how I could probably survive just eating seafood for the rest of my life (though I'd really miss green beans and onions), and I thought I would make a list of my favorite things. Plus, I've experienced so many of them this weekend that I can give you a life update by way of this cardinalization. Yes, I'm pretty sure I made up that word, which brings me to #1.

1. Using big words, or making up big words that sound like they're real. That's lots of fun, and most of the time, nobody knows what you're talking about whether it's true or false anyway.
2. Seafood. I really could live on scallops, shrimp, mussels, oysters, clam chowder, lobster, salmon, catfish...
3. Cooking for people. That's a big drawback to living alone. It's way more fun to cook when other people can taste the awesomeness, too.
4. Thinking about how great I am. This one's a bit of a problem, but I still like it. Too much.
5. Spending quality time with people I love. There's not much better than a nice, laid-back visit with close friends or family.
6. BASEBALL. Has there ever been a more relaxing activity than watching a ballgame, no matter how scary the ballgame may be? I always leave feeling happier than before...unless we lose, and then I feel happy about a day later.
7. Reading cheesy literature. Void of merit, rife with enjoyability.
8. Reading quality literature. Informative, enjoyable, and makes me feel worldly in a good, non-secular way.
9. Cultivating plants. I look forward to inspecting my little potted plants every night, checking their growth and their soil moisture. It's so happy to see that they're happy.
10. Wasting time doing things on the internet. Unproductive, but oh-so-fun.
11. Shopping. The feeling of owning a new bag or new shoes or a new shirt that makes me look fantastic is nearly unparalleled. That probably links back to #4. And it's a great way to spend quality time with others while burning a few calories!
12. Finding connections between seemingly disjoint things. Whether it's connecting people, music, activities or facts, it's always a good time. The best is when I find a song or interesting tidbit that relates to present conversation in an obscure way. People LOVE that.
13. Catching up. In both ways--getting things done (not quite as fun) and having a long conversation with somebody who's been a bit of a stranger lately (way more fun). And both are so productive!
14. Not being productive. It's probably in the Bible somewhere that we shouldn't waste time, but I'm really hoping that won't keep me out of Heaven. Because I'm awesome at it, and it definitely has the ability to make my day.
15. Cuddling with sheets straight out of the dryer. I think it's a travesty that those things ever have to be folded up and put away.
16. Driving my car. This would be a whole lot more fun if there were no such thing as police officers. Unfortunately, I now believe that every vehicle is an undercover cop, and as such I feel like I've been punched in the stomach anytime I have company on the road.
17. Ending things on particular numbers. My favorites for the radio volume are 2, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15, 18, and 20. And I never realized there was a pattern until just now. Which is why I was done with my list at 16, but I will force myself to think of three more things.
18. Organizing things that don't need to be organized. Folders on my computer, CDs that I don't listen to, books I don't read, shoes, clothes, etc. Okay, so some of those need to be organized, but not to the extent to which I've done it.
19. Wearing shoes around my apartment but not out of the house. They are way too tall and cute, and I wouldn't want anyone to think I'm that fabulous. They only match a small part of my personality, and I'd hate for people to judge me based on that.
20. Reading my own writing. I'm not one of those that dissects my own writing; I'm one who rereads it for the fun of it. Once again, it can be a problem.

If I think of any more, I will add them in later posts. I'm sorry the list is already so long. It really would have been better if I had ended at numero 16.

I will try to do a more normal posting soon with real-people updates on my life. Not much has happened at school except that the kids are being stupid and wild. I got one suspended for five days, which is half the amount of time we have until EOG testing. I keep thinking about the rest of the year in relation to each week--five days without [this girl]...five days of good EOG review...four days of EOG testing...OCS graduation and Memorial Day weekend...four days of academic playtime...four more days of academic playtime...DONE WITH THE 2009-2010 SCHOOL YEAR.

Think about it. Only five more weeks of school, three of them shortened, one with EOGs, one without one of my moody terrors. It's gonna be amazing. You know what's gonna be even more amazing?

THE BEACH. THE LAKE. TENNESSEE. PENNSYLVANIA. SWAMP DOGS GAMES. POOL TIME. READING TIME. FREEEEE TIIIIIIIIIIME.

I can't wait.
