Quick! Type!

I'm making this one quick because not only is it 9:57 and I need to go to bed, but I also have some clothes to fold and I really have to go to the bathroom. I'm trying to drink lots of water to make myself well. By the way, if any of you get free kleen kanteens, oh you PR people, may I please have one? I only have deathtrap water bottles.

Sick day was good. I got some laundry done and hung up a bunch of clothes that were strewn all about my room. I even put away all the shoes that had collected in prides, packs and mob families all over my apartment. I did dishes, too, which I'm sure would please Andy and Sarah. And I painted my toenails a nice natural color so I won't feel bad about wearing cute peep-toed shoes. Now all I have to do is start using the fake tan and I'll be good to go for springtime.

I'm a little worried to get back to school tomorrow, for I'm afraid of what report will be waiting. Last time we had a sub, kids rummaged through cabinets, stole post-its, gum, paper clips, pens and pencils, skipped class, and told off the sub multiple times. We'll see if the lovely things did anything of the sort in my class this time. Cross your fingers....

I talked to a dear friend today. He's in his year of student teaching right now, and it was so interesting to hear him talk about all the things I went through last year at this time. It's CRAZY to think about how much things have changed since then, how much I've changed since then. My teaching style is completely different, my confidence is way higher (in the classroom, that is--it's been unhealthily high in all other areas for quite some time now), and I generally just feel...different. Not better, not worse. Just not the same. I bet you, though, that as soon as warm weather starts hanging around consistently and I can open up my porch doors every day and not turn on the AC, well, then I will see every step as a HUGE change for the better.

Oh sunshine, I think you're the best ever, especially when you're paired with my fave brown flip flops and a cute skirt. I love you.
